What is a Math Expression
What is a Math Expression A math expression is an expression where numbers and variables are combined together and they form terms. Plain numbers written in an expression are called constants because they are fixed and their value cannot be changed. Variables are represented by alphabets and they however can vary, and hence we can assign them different numbers as their values depending upon the given question. In a math expression, these constants and variables are combined using different operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and they help us to simplify or estimate their value. Example 1:Find the value of the given math expression, x+ 6+ 3x 4 when the value of x is 2. Given math expression: x+ 6+ 3x 4 The value given here for the variable, x is 2 This implies that we can plug-in the value of 2 in the place of x in the above given expression. This gives: x+ 6+ 3x 4-2+ 6+ (3* 2) 4- 2+ 6+ 6- 4 = 10 Therefore the value of the given math expression when x= 2 is 10. Example 2: Find the value of the given math expression, 6p+ 8- 4p when the value of p is -1. Given math expression: 6p+ 8- 4p The value given here for the variable, p is -1. This implies that we can plug-in the value of -1 in the place of p in the above given expression. This gives: 6p+ 8- 4p -(6* -1) +8 - (4* -1) - -6+ 8+ 4 = 6 Therefore the value of the given math expression when p= -1 is 6.

The only problem is that they live 200 miles away. You could always try to find another private tutor but you donât want to waste more time. Fortunately for you, you can always get online tutorials remotely. To do this, though, youâ ll need the right equipment and a working computer. A computer, tablet, or smartphone is essential for online private tutorials. (Source: Free-Photos)You could use either a desktop or a laptop as long as it works fine. Just avoid using an old computer that takes half an hour to start up. Some recommend using a PC over a Mac because there are more video conferencing programmes available for Windows. However, you can always talk with your tutor about video conferencing software and you shouldnât have to change your computer just to get online tutorials. You can even get academic support tutorials, maths classes, or foreign language classes using your tablet. In any case, donât turn your computer or laptop on just before your lesson. Consider getting ready quarter of an hour before your lesson so you can check that everythingâs working fine. Also, make sure you regularly update your computer or tablet so that the updates donât start installing in the middle of your class. You won't get the most out of video conferencing systems i f you can't even make a video conference call because of your computer's updating.Online tutorials: The Internet ConnectionA good internet connection is essential if you want online tutorials as video calls use a decent amount of bandwidth and if your internet connection isnât quick enough, itâll cut out, freeze, and make the whole experience unbearable. Youâll spend more time fixing technical issues than learning. If youâre not getting the most out of your online private tutorials, you run the risk of getting sick of it and giving them up altogether.Fibre optic internet is still the best option if you want a good connection and HD video. However, ADSL is good enough for online tutorials if the connection is stable. In some cases, you'll need video conferencing services that are capable of HD video so that you and your tutor can see clearly. To check if your internet connection is fast enough, you can use Speedtest. You can test your internet connectionâs speed both in term s of upload, download, and ping.Skype requires a minimum of 1.5Mbits/s for a high-quality video call. If the connection isnât quick enough over your wifi connection, consider connecting your computer directly to the router via an ethernet cable. This can greatly increase the speed of your connection. If your internet connection leaves a lot to be desired, you might want to consider changing providers. You can always go to a library and see if they have individual study rooms you can use so that you donât bother anyone else there.Tools for Online Tutorials: MicrophonesWhether theyâre catchup classes, maths tutorials, or a Spanish class, being able to talk to your tutor is important. When the tutor asks you questions, you really should be able to answer without having to type. If your wifi isn't fast enough, consider connecting your computer to the router using an ethernet cable. (Source: Fotocitizen)Similarly, each student needs to be able to ask questions in the same way they would if the tutor were there in the room with them. The microphone is essential for communicating and sharing information with your tutor as you would do in any other class. If your computer has a built-in microphone, you might be fine, but make sure you test it first. If it doesnât work, you can always replace it with an external microphone. You can get replacement mics for under £20 or even get a headset that allows you to both speak to your tutor and hear them using the same device. You can get these for under £20, too.Choose the solution that works best for you and your tutor.Learn more about what to expect in online tutorials. This helps make communication between the tutor and the student more natural as if they were there in the room with you. Furthermore, you may need to show your tutor your work, for example. While most laptops now come with a webcam built-in, you might want to invest in a better one. (Source: Aksa2011)It also helps to be able to explain something visually. In this case, you must have your webcam turned on.Most computers now come with a built-in webcam. If this isnât the case or your webcamâs quality isnât great, you can get cheap and decent webcams. Similarly, if you have a digital camera, you may be able to plug it into your computer and use it as a webcam.Donât forget to check that the camera and microphone are set up and correctly configured before you start. There may be certain settings that you need to change before you can start your tutorials.Find out more about the cost of online tutorials.Video Conferencing Software for Online Private TutorialsYour webcam and microphone wonât be much use if you donât have the software to communicate with your tutor. Youâll need to download some video conferencing software so that you can get in touch with each oth er. Some platforms, such as Classgap, have their own video conferencing platform. If this isnât the case, you can always use Skype or Anymeeting, for example. In addition to Skype and Anymeeting, there's also Zoom Video Communications, Cisco WebEx, GoToMeeting, HighFive, HipChat, Workplace by Facebook, Zoho Cliq, HipChat, Lifesize, GoToWebinar, Pigeonhole Live, and Roundee. While the jury's out on the best videoconferencing software, it'll probably be down to the tutor's preference. While a lot of these platforms are used for online meetings, audio conferencing, conference calls, and webinars, there are teleconferencing and web conferencing platforms you have to pay for and others that are free. Ideally, you want your tutor to suggest a platform that you don't have to pay for, but in some cases, the functionality will be worth it.You can also use chat clients to type messages to each other and share files. Your tutor can even share their screen with you to correct exercises, etc. So me of these platforms are essentially virtual meeting rooms and since the tutor saves on travel costs, you'll pay less for your tutorials.Screen sharing allows you to see exactly what the other person sees on their screen. This is useful for correcting documents and most video conferencing solutions include screen sharing, audio and video calls, and plenty of collaboration tools so that you can work together.Online Music TutorialsIf youâre doing music tutorials or learning how to play an instrument, youâll need additional materials. Firstly, youâll need to discuss this with your tutor. In a music tutorial, youâll need to be able to replicate the techniques your tutor shows you. A basic microphone will be fine for most types of tutorials but music tutorials may require better (and more expensive) audio equipment. (Source: Didgeman)Your tutor will also need to be able to see and hear whether or not youâre performing these techniques correctly. Thus, youâll need to focus your camera and microphone on your instrument.Of course, youâll also need to be able to ask questions. Buying a second microphone may be a good idea. Thus, you can have one picking up the sound from your instrument and another to be able to talk to your tutor. Youâll probably want a headset and a regular microphone.Advice for Online Private TutorialsChoose a quiet place where you wonât be interrupted during your private tutorials. If youâre at home, remind your family to not disturb you while youâre in your lesson.Turn off notifications on your phone, close all the windows on your web browser, and ensure that there are no distractions from your social media. You must concentrate and pay as much attention to your remote private tutor as you would any other tutor. Now you just have to go out and get the right equipment. Of course, as useful as web conferencing is for learning, it can quickly derail a lesson if your video conferencing system fails you.Certain subjects, like art, for example, might benefit a lot from HD video conferencing since your tutor will need to see what you've done. Of course, you can always take HD photos of your work and share your screen in one click. However, in most cases, you won't need Skype for business or exceptional video quality. There are different services you need to consider and a lot of the professional-grade ones come with a free trial.

Total Revenue Formula
Total Revenue Formula Total revenue is the total amount earned by a certain source for selling a product at a certain price. The formula to calculate the total revenue gained by a source is, total revenue is equal to the product of the quantity of the goods and the price at which the goods are sold. The total revenue formula is very helpful when required to calculate the amount gained by a particular source such as an organization, a store etc. when a certain number of goods are sold. Example 1: A book store sells 55 books at a cost of $20 each book. How much is the total revenue earned by the bookstore for selling those books? Total revenue, TR = (Quantity of the goods) * (Selling price of the goods) In the above example, the goods are the books. Quantity of books sold = 55. Cost of each book = $20. Therefore, applying the above formula we get: Total revenue, TR = 55 * $20 = $1100. Hence the total revenue earned by the bookstore = $1100. Example 2: If a candy store sold 30 chocolate candies of $1.00 each and 20 strawberry candies, $0.50 each, then how much is the total revenue earned by the store? Total revenue, TR = (Quantity of the goods) * (Selling price of the goods) Quantity of chocolate candies sold= 30 Cost of each chocolate candy= $1.00 Revenue earned= 30* $1 = $30.00 Quantity of strawberry candies sold= 20 Cost of each strawberry candy= $0.50. Revenue earned= 20* $0.50= $10.00 Hence total revenue earned, TR= $30.00+ $10.00= $40.00
What to Do After Youve Submitted Your College Applications
What to Do After Youâve Submitted Your College Applications The following guest post was written by Raj Patil, one of the co-founders at Admissionado, a premier college admissions consulting company focused on helping students get into their dream schools. College applications are the culmination of a few-month process. In fact, the commitment and sacrifice began on Day 1 of high school (and honestly, long before even that). The hard part is over and done with. If theres an appropriate time to sweat and stress out about getting something absolutely perfect, that time has passed! And yet, the school year hasnt ended. There are deferments, waitlists, rejections, and acceptances to deal with. So, now that the college application part has concluded, what now? January - mid-March: The grey zone The months of January and February and part of March typically sit between the submission of the college apps and the decisions associated with them. Is there a correct thing to focus on during this period? Yes: Stop focusing on stuff. Well, almostdont let your grades slide. If you were to belly flop, it may send the wrong signal to schools that say yes on the premise that youre precisely the kind of kid who wont let things slide. So, keep your hands on the wheel, but dont stress too much. Sure, attend that social event you may have chosen not to attend a few weeks ago. Jam a little longer with your bandmates. That kind of thing. In other words, enjoy being a senior in high school. Something profound is going to change when you go to college. For most folks, this is the real inflection point from adolescence to adulthood, dependence to independence. Theres also something to be said about burnout: now is not the time. Mid-March: Stay calm Funs over. Youre going to sweat, and you have every reason to. But given the circumstances, this is actually a great version of stress. It means that youre invested in the outcome. How could you not be? This anticipation of whether that envelope (or email) says a certain thingis actually one of the joys of life, and theres simply no substitute for it. Is it always fun? Nope. It can be positively gutting. But the point is, dont worry if youre freaking out with anticipation. Its more than called for. [RELATED: 6 Surprising Things About Senior Year of High School] Mid-March - early April = And the verdict is And then, just like that, the decisions come out. Usually in waves: letters, emails, whatever new way they decide to use, etc. And its going to be either 1.) great news, or 2.) not-so-great news. Waitlists arent inning-ending, but they are not always bankable either. If you have even one admit, take pride! You at least have the choice of attending a college in the fall. Now, you may be waitlisted at a higher-ranked school and do everything in your power to get off that waitlist, or you may have your heart set on a different program and make it your mission to work extra hard during freshman year at another college in hopes of transferring a year laterbut no matter how you look at it, you have a choice. Congrats. [RELATED: 5 Ways to Make Your College Decision Easier] If you have more than one admit, congrats as well! Now, you can choose between programs. Here, the algorithm is simple: Separate your admits into echelons and begin to evaluate. If in your highest echelon, you have more than one choice, you can now really get specific. You can look at factors like location, extracurricular opportunities, student to faculty ratio, etc. But what happens if you get flat-out rejected from every school youve applied to? What if have zero choices at the end of the day? Its natural and okay to feel bad and have regrets. Those emotions are normal, but its not the end of the road. There are tons of other gears you can tap into, depending on your resources and your particular ambitions. Gap years are not uncommon, for instance; pursue some great volunteer opportunities, take some online classes, enroll in more classes at a local community collegewhatever it is, choose opportunities wisely to position yourself well for whatever your next move will be. Want to apply again in a year? Figure out exactly what you need to do to augment your portfolio in order to make that happen. How does Homework Help in Math for College Students Accelerate the Learning Process
How does Homework Help in Math for College Students Accelerate the Learning Process Every student is special in his or her own way. Every student has some or the other kind of liking and disliking and this discriminates a child from the other. Different child has different type of liking and disliking. It is not possible that every child will have similar kind of liking. There are various subjects that help in making a child know anything better. When I was a child I used to fear mathematics to a large level. Such may be the case for many who are not at all familiar and comfortable with any of the particular subject. Amongst all it is generally viewed that people are much scared of mathematics and thus they do not want to take it to the next level. But still exceptions are there are all fields. Many have taken this brave heart thing and have shifted it to the next level. In college also they have taken mathematics and have thought it to be making it move to the next level. The entire process is very tough and thus it takes a lot of time to go with the flow of the subject. Private tutors are available but very few of them are into good teaching. A good teacher can help you to know the subject deeply and with much enthusiasm. They can turn a subject into an easy one and this will help them to score more and get deep into the subject. But with time the private tutors have become professional and thus it has made students get in lot of problems for now. Unavailability of good teachers has made students suffer a lot of problems and this has decreased their grades and also their moral support. A good teacher at higher level is very much required for knowing the subject in a much better and easier way. Have you heard about online tutors? Yes, it is a new concept and thus very few may be accustomed with the concept. The concept is about providing you with good and proper knowledge and training for a subject under the guidance of a good teacher. Every teacher is knowledgeable and thus they can go deep down into the subject and make a student feel more comfortable with the subject. All the teachers that are appointed with any good and reputed online service are very much intelligent and have a good command over the subject. When you have good command over the subject then you can teach also better. This is the basic facility of a good and reputed online teacher. The good teachers make it a point to teach the student with same enthusiasm and this is possible only when you yourself will know the subject. First of all they plan a strategy to conduct the subject and then work according to the plans and programs for betterment of a student. The rates in some institutes are very high, but in some institutes it is very less and can be easily afforded by the middle class parents. This brings relief too many parents largely. The online tutoring services do not have any fixed timing and thus it depends on the student as to how and when they want to avail the class. The availability of the teachers is all the time and this brings in a great amount of self confidence within a student so that they can perform better. The other best part of online teaching courses is that the teachers are there available for each student individually. Yes, it is true that here a teacher can be individually guiding you with his entire time and concentration and this helps a weak student largely. They get lot of support and guidance with such type of teacher beside them. The student can gain lot of help and they can come out of their shell and perform better with having guidance from such a teacher. Not only with the subjects but the teacher also provides you with other help as well. They help you with homework help in which they solve the problems that arise while you complete your homework. Other help such as completion of projects and assignments can also be done by them. A good teacher is available to help you and guide you with such problems as well. It can be said as a total package and thus young generation people are availing it largely. Now you may have in mind that how to discriminate between a good and a bad institute. A good institute will have all the above facilities that are noted down. But still if you are not able o track anyone of them till now then you have gone with TutorPace. February ACT Study Timeline 7 Steps to Success - TutorNerds
February ACT Study Timeline 7 Steps to Success - TutorNerds February ACT Study Timeline From an Orange County Test Prep Tutor The date to sign up for the December ACT has already passed, however, students can still sign up for the February ACT (READ: ACT Tips From a Private Irvine Tutor). Hopefully, most students have already started preparing for the February ACT, but for those who havent, here is a study timeline to help stay on track. One â" Start with one section at a time Dont attempt to do the entire ACT at one time if you are just starting your studies. Break it up into each section. Set aside five hours on five different days and designate the first day to an intro lesson, then the essay, the English section, the math section, the science section (READ: Ask a Nerd! Are the SAT and ACT Similar?). Two â" Give yourself an introduction Spend an hour skimming through your ACT prep book and familiarize yourself with a few important things such as, how The ACT is graded, how to sign up for the ACT, and the basics of test prep. Do a few practice problems in each section and read through the basic ideas of process of elimination in your test prep book. Three â" Tackle the essay Use the practice problems in your test prep book and write at least one essay. Show this essay to your tutor or to a trusted teacher or friend and ask them to give you honest and upfront feedback. Most students need to write several practice essays prior to taking the actual exam so get started now and plan to write a minimum of three to five practice essays between now and February (READ: Last Minute SAT Study Guide). Four â" Tackle the English section Take a practice English section after your intro and tally up what your potential score would be. Write down the score and save it for later. Five â" Move on to the math section Once the English practice test is done, go ahead and complete the math section. Review all of the basic mathematical concepts in the test prep book. The majority of students will already know these concepts and may have learned them several years ago but have long since forgotten them. Six â" Try out the science section Go ahead and give the science section a try. In reality, this section will mostly be learning how to read charts and graphs but, this is a really important skill to have for the ACT. Once finished with all of the sections calculate a composite score using the directions in the back of the test prep book. Seven â" Call for help if needed Many students call a tutor a few weeks prior to taking the real exam. Its much more helpful to know ahead of time which sections a student needs help on so it is recommended that students have taken at least one full practice exam, even if they are taking it over multiple days, several weeks in advance of the actual test. Once a student knows what their weaker areas are, they can focus on them specifically and speak with a tutor one-on-one to have a plan of action toward success. Students who are taking the ACT in February dont wait too late to sign up for your Irvine ACT tutor for the first time should plan to start their prep no later than mid December. Most students have at least a week off at the end of December; it is important to make arrangements ahead of time so that the intense tutoring and self-study can start in January. February is not the most popular time to take the ACT but its actually one of the better times to get it over with. Students are relaxed from the Thanksgiving and winter holidays and are usually recharged and able to take an exam without too much stress. Additionally, taking the ACT in February will not interfere with the intense AP study that will follow in April and May.
